AI is incredibly useful. Seek something via AI and ye shall always find. Don’t expect any wit or humour, AI certainly doesn’t provide that - unlike you, Jonathan! But it delivers facts and sometimes views re possible options which, albeit in a soulless, bland and slightly spooky kind of way, has some benefit. Even my GP used AI in the background when I went to see him the other day - he asked for my consent, of course, but I could only see upside.

But one thing is absolutely clear - AI can never be a substitute for the Bleating Goat! 😊

What do you mean "we 'will' become idiots"? I think that as with most things in our life at least, it boils down to choice, time and money..

Idiots who are by far the majority will prefer AI - like a MacDo or any fast food chain, it's effortless, quick and handy and, undiscerning, they wouldn't care if what they read or listened to were human or not.

- Our increasinly time pressured lifestyle and trying to rake through 100s of articles fake or not, makes people also turn to it for speed

-Money - it is costing this world enormous amounts to sustain it, as you say and our own selfish indolence will carry on demanding it, even when we are gasping for water!

As you know, I defend High Art to the hilt - but you yourself have said I'm a minority and it's down to supply and demand..non?
